The once glorious Thebes lies on the verge of destruction. A plague has swept through the city and the feverish, shambling citizens turn their hopes to one man, Oedipus. What follows is a dizzying and delirious journey. The physical and spiritual combine as gods and men hurdle towards the discovery of a single, undeniable truth.
Oedipus Rex, an ancient Greek classic, is one of the oldest pieces of tragic theater in existence. This production seeks to combine elements of the original Greek style with modern devised movement to create a compelling, thrilling, and insightful piece of theater.
