With a lot of our board members, you'll notice that they've been involved in the performing or designing aspect of our productions in the past or concurrently with their board position. That's because our board members are made up of our VFR Family. I have been working with VFR for almost two year now, and in that time I've been able to participate in VFR'sproductions as an actor, stage manager, and costume designer, as well as opening our third season directing Titus Andronicus, Shakespeare's most bloody revenge tragedy. It's important to me that I be a well-rounded artist, and being part of such a collaborative and creative group has really helped with that.
I earned a B.A in Theater from Franciscan University of Steubenville, where I first experienced the benefits of being part of a small but mighty team. I've always enjoyed the works of Shakespeare, and joining a company that chiefly stages the bard's work seemed only natural. I've always got a side project going on in conjunction with my theatrical endeavors. In addition to my theatrical endeavors, I am a painter and an author currently working on a trilogy of fantasy books.

With a lot of our board members, you'll notice that they've been involved in the performing or designing aspect of our productions in the past or concurrently with their board position. That's because our board members are made up of our VFR Family. The best way I can describe my job would be as the Official Scribe to the Board—I schedule and organize our meetings, help everyone stay on track with the projects they’re working on, and generally try to be a help to the group!
Although originally from Virginia, I moved to Milwaukee to be a part of Voices Found Rep. I earned my degree at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, with a minor in Psychology, and attended summer long intensives with the British-American Drama Academy and Shakespeare & Company, where I was lucky to meet the future founders of VFR. I was eager to rejoin my comrades in Milwaukee once I heard of VFR’s exciting work, and acted in Richard III, Twelfth Night, King John, Macbeth, and directed Hamlet. I am proud to be working with such a vibrant, talented and hard-working group of young people that make VFR a reality. Going into our 3rd season, we are working tirelessly to refine our process as a company and learn new ways to be our most efficient and organized selves. As we pass milestone after milestone, I am reminded that we would not still be here if it weren’t for the support of our friends and family who support our shows, even in the most creative of ways. So THANK YOU to everyone reading this: you are the reason we’re not another statistic. As a normal-person-job, I am a dance instructor at Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Greenfield, which is pretty awesome. Again, I am super lucky and super grateful. Something most people don’t know about me is that I can ride a unicycle, and, fun fact, I’ve broken my neck before! Yeah, crazy story, ask me about it sometime. That’s all for me! PM me if you’d like to know more about the shenanigans we get up to at VFR, and most of all don’t forget to have a great day. Stay in school, kids. |
